Our commitment
Pacific Forward Initiative Limited ("PFI") is committed to making our digital services — including our website at pacforward.org, our educational materials, and our program-facing communications — accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We view accessibility not as a compliance box but as a core expression of our mission: teaching AI and technology literacy is meaningful only if the resources we produce can reach everyone who might benefit from them.
Standard we work toward
We work to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard most commonly referenced in U.S. federal accessibility requirements, including Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and by nonprofit accessibility guidance from organizations such as the National Council of Nonprofits and the ADA National Network.
PFI has not yet completed a formal third-party accessibility audit of pacforward.org. We do not currently claim full conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA. We describe our accessibility posture as *working toward* the standard, with continuous improvement as the operating discipline.
What we do to work toward the standard
- Design and content practices. We use plain language, meaningful headings, descriptive link text, alt text on informational images, sufficient color contrast, and keyboard-navigable interactions where practicable.
- Platform choice. Our website is hosted on Wix, which provides built-in accessibility tooling including the Wix Accessibility Wizard. We use these tools as part of our ongoing improvement process.
- Regular review. We conduct informal accessibility reviews when we publish new pages or make significant changes to existing pages.
- Feedback loop. We treat accessibility feedback from visitors as a first-priority signal and respond as promptly as our volunteer-led capacity allows.
Compatibility
pacforward.org is designed to be accessible with current versions of major web browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) and commonly used assistive technologies including screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS) and screen magnifiers. We do not test against every browser-and-assistive-technology combination; if you encounter an incompatibility, we want to hear about it.
Known limitations
Because PFI is in its first year of operations and has not yet completed a formal accessibility audit, we cannot enumerate every accessibility limitation of pacforward.org. Areas we specifically flag as potential gaps we intend to address:
- Video and audio content. Any video or audio content published by PFI may not yet have captions, transcripts, or audio descriptions. We commit to providing these on request and to producing accessible video and audio content going forward.
- PDF documents. PDFs linked from pacforward.org may not be tagged for full screen-reader accessibility. We commit to providing an accessible alternative format on request.
- Third-party embedded content. Some content displayed on pacforward.org — for example, event registrations hosted on Luma, forms hosted on Google Forms, or donation processing — is delivered by third-party platforms whose accessibility we do not control directly. Where possible, we choose third-party platforms based on the best available accessibility signals, but their accessibility remains outside our direct control.
How to report an accessibility issue or request an alternative format
We want to hear from you if you encounter an accessibility barrier on any PFI digital property, if you need program information or educational content in an alternative format, or if you have suggestions for improving our accessibility.

Our response commitment: We aim to respond to accessibility inquiries within five (5) business days and to resolve reported issues as promptly as our volunteer-led operations allow. If a fix will take longer than five business days, we will provide a status update and an estimated timeline.
When contacting us, it helps if you can include:
- A description of the issue, feature, or content involved
- The URL or location where you encountered it
- The assistive technology or browser you were using, if applicable
- A description of the accessible format you would like to receive, if requesting an alternative format
Alternative formats
We are committed to making the content of pacforward.org available in alternative formats on request, including large print, plain text, audio, and screen-reader-friendly document formats. Requests may be sent to accessibility@pacforward.org.
This policy describes our current accessibility posture and commitments. As PFI grows and completes formal accessibility work, we will update this policy to reflect audit results, additional commitments, and expanded features. This policy is reviewed at least annually and revised as needed.
